Account Management & VR Apps.

The Product

  1. Holoride is an immersive in-vehicle entertainment system that combines virtual reality (VR) with real-time motion data from a car. It creates interactive experiences, like games or movies, synchronized with the car's movements, providing passengers with a more engaging and entertaining journey.

Challenge

  1. To provide the optimum user experience, by creating a holoride account management app that links the VR platform app with user settings and enables authorisation.

Define

Research

Through initial research, we defined key functional requirements for the account management app, benchmarking against platforms like Nintendo Switch, Apple ID, Spotify, and Discord. This led to the creation of the ideal user flow.

Ideate

  1. Conceptual Design
  2. Following research, I led a design workshop with the team, in order to define key features and align on the project vision. I then created a sitemap, sharing them with the team via Miro.

Design

  1. UX/UI Design
  2. After multiple rounds of wireframing and feedback, I transitioned to UI design in Figma, aligning with the external agency’s style guide for holoride.com. I created additional icons and pictograms to enhance the application's character.

Development

Once the Figma files were ready, I led handover meetings with developers, finalizing tweaks and breaking down designs into development tasks. Throughout the process, I supported the team with queries and ensured quality implementation across mobile and desktop.

Outcome

  1. The website application was completed ahead of the Q3 product release, with additional features and functionality added by Q4 2022. Social login and subscription updates were planned for Q1 2023, with ongoing enhancements to improve functionality and deliver tailored content.
  2. Below are a selection of screenshots (desktop & mobile).

Additional designs

  • VR app UI design
  • Further to the account management app design, I also contributed multiple design iterations for the VR app UI, refining them into launch-ready final designs. Below is a selection of customizable templates, optimized for various in-app scenarios and ready for Unity deployment.
